Natalie Sakanian, pianist, musicologist, accompanist, arranger, teacher of theoretical disciplines, chamber assemble artist, has 16 years of studies in music, during which she was honored with awards of excellence.

Bachelor and Masters degree in Music Education with high honors and Kodaly teacher certificate via Seattle Pacific University.

Natalie made her debut at the age of 5 and since then she participated in multiple prestigious competitions and appears in concerts as soloist and accompanist. Natalie worked with various instrumentalists and vocalists, as well as working as an accompanist for many ballet companies. During her 15 years of teaching experience, she uses a special approach and individualized curriculum for every student. Natalie strongly believes that children don’t learn from the teachers they don’t like. In her own words, “I think that having a music degree is not enough for being a good teacher. It is having experience and understanding of child psychology, along with the process of child development, and most importantly having true love towards children that will help you become the kind of teacher that will stay in your student’s memory forever.” Currently, Natalie teaches group music and private piano classes at the Conservatory where she shares her passion for and knowledge of music. Being a life-long learner, Natalie continues her studies to become a certified preschool Director 1, while working part-time at local preschool programs including the Cape Conservatory. She became a huge fan of Montessori educational materials and Waldorf philosophy of teaching. As she states, “I try to set high but achievable expectations for all of my students. My lessons are intense and my students are tired but happy at the end of each session because they have learned to work hard and enjoy the process of work itself.”
