Christy King

Christy King is a vocalist, composer, conductor, and music educator who believes every student has a voice.

Christy’s passion for choral music education is what inspired her to become a music teacher. At the Conservatory, Christy teaches voice, composition & early childhood music classes in addition to the Debut Choir, the youngest choir of the Cape Youth Chorale. In addition, Christy is the Director of Education & Outreach, leading education outreach programs in the schools and communities on Cape Cod. Prior to teaching at the Conservatory, Christy was a music theory tutor at the College of Charleston. Christy’s compositions have been commissioned for an array of ensembles in the Southern region such as the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. Christy has sung in many highly esteemed ensembles, such as the CofC Concert Choir, the Briarwood Ensemble, and the professional Taylor Festival Choir. In addition to her M.M.Ed, Christy is certified by the Feierabend Association for Music Education in Conversational Solfege.
