Mary Sholkovitz - Flute

While a student at University of Michigan (B.A. in Sociology and Master’s in Social Work) she studied flute and found performing opportunities. She launched her flute teaching career when she moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1972.  She is a certified Suzuki flute teacher and she has performed for Sir James Galway on two occasions. For 16 years she taught Early Childhood Music Classes.

Mary has played flute for choral groups throughout the Cape, been a flutist or cellist with ensembles, and finds great joy in performing for church services and weddings. She lives in Falmouth with her husband Edward, a Scientist Emeritus at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
