Kyle Spraker - Trumpet, Saxophone

Kyle Spraker recently became the Principal Trumpet of the Cape Symphony and will be starting his fourth season with the group in 2017-18. Kyle is an avid teaching artist, chamber musician, recording artist, and soloist who has performed throughout the United States, China, Venezuela, Taiwan, Japan, Mexico, and much of Eastern Europe.


Kyle earned a Master’s Degree from the New England Conservatory in 2010, where he studied with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra- Benjamin Wright and Steven Emery. Before moving to the East Coast, Kyle earned a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University of Long Beach, where he studied with members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic: Jim Wilt and Christopher Still. He has also been a fellow at Spoleto Festival USA, National Orchestral Institute, Idyllwild Festival, and the Castleton Festival under the baton of Lorin Maazel.

Kyle has performed with notable ensembles throughout New England: Boston Philharmonic, Albany Symphony, Callithumpian Consort, New Bedford Symphony, Symphony New Hampshire, and once with the Kyushu Symphony in Japan. Kyle also performs frequently with his brass quintet: Redline Brass ( Redline is committed to creating concert experiences that are inclusive to all audiences and they have earned great acclaim for their educational outreach programs.

Kyle enjoys teaching both brass and woodwinds (his first instrument was Saxophone!) at the Cape Conservatory.
