MUSIC WORKS! EVERYDAY

Our MusicWorks! Everyday education program encourages each child - not just music students - to engage with music in a way that is very personal.  It helps them broaden their appreciation for great music and improve their listening skills.

HOW IT WORKS
Participants in this uniquely designed, non-directed listening program are exposed to classical music for five minutes at the beginning of each school day, five days per week.  By listening to the same composition accompanied by interesting facts, stories and concepts over the course of a week, students not only become knowledgeable about the featured music and the composer; but they also improve their ability to focus. Our teachers report an average increase of 15 minutes per day of productivity! The best part? The program is free to participating schools.

PROGRAM-IN-A-BOX
This program has been enthusiastically received by teachers and administrators and successfully implemented in a variety of school settings. No teacher preparation necessary.

This “program-in-a-box” includes a comprehensive resource book and professional-quality CDs for a five-year plan. When used in conjunction with other Cape Conservatory music education programs, it also directly supports the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Framework.

GETTING STARTED
The Cape Conservatory is highly committed to bringing this popular program to schools Cape-wide, at no cost to the school.

We provide an initial orientation with administrators and full staff training in late summer before school starts. We also schedule follow-up visits to ensure program success. This program is currently in place at 32 Cape Cod schools with over 11,000 students listening daily to the masterpieces.
