The Cape Youth Orchestra program brings talented young musicians of all ages and skill levels from Cape Cod and southern New England together to perform under the direction of professional conductors, musicians, and educators from the Cape Symphony, Conservatory, and Boston area. Centered on fostering joy in instrumental and orchestral playing, the youth orchestra program provides students with enriching musical experiences and the opportunity for personal growth through the training and performance of symphonic music.

Advanced high school symphonic orchestra (grades 9-12)
Barnstable Campus  |   Mondays, 5:45-7:30pm 

CYO Debut Winds
Intermediate middle school wind and brass (grades 6-8 with 2+ years experience)
Barnstable Campus  |  Mondays, 5:45-7:30pm  

CYO Debut Strings
Beginner string orchestra (grades 1-5 with 1+ years experience)
Barnstable Campus  |  Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15pm

No rehearsals on holidays and school vacations.

Prerequisites for Participation:
Musicians must be in good standing within their school music programs; private lessons with outside instructor or Conservatory faculty member is strongly encouraged.

Jung-Ho Pak serves as Artistic Advisor to the Youth Orchestra. He is the Artistic Director of the Cape Symphony & Conservatory and Conductor of the Cape Symphony. His background as a musician, performance/conducting experience and 25 years of teaching experience have helped shape the vision, format, and infrastructure of the Youth Orchestra. He will continue to serve in an advisory capacity.

Stephanie Weaver, Executive Director of the Cape Conservatory, brings decades of experience as a musician, educator, and lecturer, along with the resources and connections of the Conservatory, to the team.
