This flute ensemble class is for teens (16 and older) and adults who are at an intermediate to advanced level of playing, can read music and count reasonably well!  Classical and folk music arranged for duets, trios, quartets and flute choir (includes alto and bass flute parts) will be explored. This class provides an opportunity to meet other congenial and enthusiastic flute players, whether you are currently an active flutist or someone who wants to get back to playing after a long or short break.

A fun and social group for intermediate to advanced players. 

Led by renowned flutist and teaching artist, Mary Sholkovitz.

Mary Sholkovitz - Flute

While a student at University of Michigan (B.A. in Sociology and Master’s in Social Work) she studied flute and found performing opportunities. She launched her flute teaching career when she moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1972.  She is a certified Suzuki flute teacher and she has performed for Sir James Galway on two occasions. For 16 years she taught Early Childhood Music Classes.

Mary has played flute for choral groups throughout the Cape, been a flutist or cellist with ensembles, and finds great joy in performing for church services and weddings. She lives in Falmouth with her husband Edward, a Scientist Emeritus at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
