Music Historian, Educator, and Flutist
Three years of Ph.D. coursework in Musicology, University of North Texas;
M.M., Music History, Bowling Green State University; B.A., Music Education, Saginaw Valley State University

Amber E. Broderick is a music historian, educator, and flutist with 15 years of performing and teaching experience.

Her educational philosophy is that anyone can learn to play or sing well with sensitive instruction, hands-on activities, and quality music to suit the student’s playing level and interests. In the classroom, Amber is an engaging lecturer who aims to bring music history to life through fascinating accounts of composers, their dynamic personal lives and the music that has endured for centuries.

Amber's research includes Beethoven and Berlioz, women in music, opera and orchestral works, and musical life in 19th century Paris. She completed three years of Ph.D. coursework in Musicology at the University of North Texas, the largest music school in the United States and has presented her research in the U.S., Canada, and Ireland. She received her M.M. in Music History from Bowling Green State University and B.A. in Music Education from Saginaw Valley State University where she was Outstanding Senior in Music Education. 

Amber is originally from Michigan and recently moved from Texas with her husband. She is an animal lover, avid cook, and thrift store enthusiast. She performs regularly with the Falmouth Chorale, the Falmouth Chamber Players Orchestra, and as a soloist for special events.
